The results are highly appricieted throughout the world and help wineries to build their brands.
We entered three Gizella wines and won two silver and one gold medals:
2019 Barát Hárslevelű received 90 points and won a silver, 2017 Aszú 6 puttonyos received 92 points and won a silver as well, and finally 2018 Szamorodni received 96 points and won a faboulos gold medal for us.
2019 | SOMMELIER WINE AWARDS
The best wine of our Szil-völgy project, which started in 2009, is the 2017 vintage. In many ways, the vineyard has opened up new horizons for us. The idea of blending the two varieties has since been included also in the concept of the base wine of the winery. We have also changed in style: less is more, here it is also true for both barrel use and content. The search for development and quality has been part of our everyday lives ever since.
2017 | WINEMAKER OF WINEMAKERS, A LIST OF 50
It is worth knowing that winemakers vote for each other, so it works on a fully professional basis. It feels good to be among the best.
2017 | DECANTER - THE 75 MOST EXCITING WINES OF THE YEAR
This vintage received a lot of rain, which is why the wines were characterised by a lighter structure and higher acidity. They probably liked that, highlighting the delicate aroma set of Hárslevelű and the proper use of oak.
2016 | TOP 100 HUNGARIAN WINES
A very important moment when in November 2016 the 2015 Barát Hárslevelű earned the first place in the TOP 100 Hungarian wines and the 2013 Dénes Aszú finished in third place.
Looking back, this is a particularly great achievement from this era, when it was all about Furmint. We were very happy that the jury liked the dry Hárslevelű, made on the loess soil of the Tokaj Hill, due to its elegance.
A trend change has already been felt here, which has been going on ever since and is slowly moving the standard towards appreciating a complexity where great emphasis is placed on the freshness of the wine and, in addition to depth, good balance and pleasant drinkability.
